Pluto Goes Retrograde, Part One
On May 1, 2023, Pluto - the planet of deconstruction, transformation, and rebirth - stops its forward motion in freedom-loving Aquarius and starts moving back into structure and maintenance-oriented Capricorn. This may sound like bad news, but it’s actually very positive. Reason: when it’s back in the last degrees of Capricorn, Pluto will finish the demolition it started over 14 years ago. Pluto’s final tear down and clean-up effort will stretch from May 1 all the way into late November of 2024 when Pluto re-enters Aquarius.
What does it mean for you? Pluto made its grand re-entrance into Aquarius back on March 23. Pluto hasn’t been in this progressive, limit-busting sign for nearly 250 years! As it crossed into Aquarius the last week of March, you may have noticed an insistent push toward personal freedom, self-determination, and going for the gold. Maybe you checked yourself a few times, shocked by the new positivity showing up. Is that possible?? You may have received a momentary but powerful flash of what your life can be like without all the old, familiar shackles in personal relationships, work, health, or just the way you look at the world.
With Pluto in retrograde, now it’s time to slow down and reflect on what Pluto revealed during those 5 weeks in Aquarius. What did you discover about your true desires and potential? What have you glimpsed about the future that you’re not willing to let go? As you reflect, allow that image to saturate your body, heart, mind, and soul. Then hold onto it. This image will be your compass – your guiding star - as Pluto journeys back into Capricorn for one “last pass.” There is something (or perhaps several things) in your life that you have depended on for stability. But now, it’s no longer a positive. It’s a leg chain, holding you back. Pluto wants to release you from whatever this is. And with Pluto’s recent revelations in Aquarius, you have a freshly-minted perspective on where you want to go.
